Speaking Practice Goals

This is my first semester taking Japanese, so I don't really have much of an idea of what I need to work on most yet, but I have a few ideas on what I'd like to try. Mainly, I'd like to make the most of opportunities to speak with native Japanese speakers. This means that, for example, I could attend JSA events and make more Japanese friends through that to get casual speaking practice and also give Japanese more relevance to my everyday life and relationships. I could also attend the Japanese language tables in Mathey and Forbes for additional practice. I also enjoy a lot of Japanese music, so I could continue listening to that, and I could also watch Japanese movies sometimes.
